I used two games with my 4th graders so far that I got from Pinterest. Both were easy to play and the final art came out really good. First we played the game "Roll a Miro" then we played "Roll a Picasso". Both are dice games. It was a lot of fun!
These pumpkins are so much fun to make! The project took more prep work than I thought it would - but the results were worth it! Here you can see all the materials we used and how to begin the sculpture part. While students were finishing up their drawings, I glued down green paper on the matt board scraps and stapled a vine to it.
As students finished their pumpkins I stapled them into place. Once that was done students created more vines and details to finish the sculpture. We will put them in the media center for all to enjoy! When Van Gogh shared the Yellow House with Paul Gaugin he made two paintings of chairs. Each chair represented the artists. We are in the beginning stages of this project, but I can already tell you they are going to ROCK!
We worked on geometric and organic shapes and positive and negative space in these fabulous Matisse inspired collages. Students used the app Audio Boo to record their voices while they reflected on their work.
Take a look at the these beautiful one point perspecitve landscapes that are full of texture.! Can you guess which artist we studied?

Fourth Grade Gallery...
We have lots of great talks about art and artists in 4th grade. At this age we are really getting into the "meaning" of Art.
